Mary Beth Harvey

Mary Beth Harvey (Morgantown, WV)

Mary Beth Harvey is currently an Office Manager in the Personnel Department of Monongalia County Schools in Morgantown, WV. She has taught Instrumental/Vocal Music in West Virginia and Florida from 1988 to 2012.

Prior to returning to West Virginia, she was the Director of Bands in Wesley Chapel, Florida, where under her baton and leadership, the marching band and wind ensemble achieved multiple Superior ratings at the district and state level.

Miss Harvey served on the Executive Board of the Florida Music Educators Association (FMEA), and has performed as Secretary, and later Chairperson of the District 5 Florida Bandmasters Association (FBA). Mary Beth is also a member of the American School Band Directors Association (ASBDA)

While in Florida, she played Horn with the Sunshine Brass Band of Tampa, FL. During Mary Beth’s tenure performing with the SBB, they won first place at the North American Brass Band Association (NABBA) competition in Chicago, IL.

Upon returning to West Virginia, Miss Harvey has served on the Executive Board of the West Virginia Music Educators Association (WVMEA) serving as the Exhibits Chairperson for the State Clinic/Conference. She is currently the Vice President of the West Virginia University Alumni Band, where she was named to the Outstanding Alumni Award in 2014.

Mary Beth holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education (F Horn) from West Virginia University, and has attended Indiana State University with a graduate degree focus in Music Education.

Mary Beth is originally from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and currently resides in Morgantown, WV.
