Eric Lauver, Executive Director

Eric Lauver holds a Master of Education degree with K-12 Principal concentration from California University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Music in Saxophone Performance from Duquesne University, and a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Duquesne University. Mr. Lauver's principal teachers have included James Houlik, Mike Tomaro, and Steve Pollock.

Mr. Lauver is currently the Middle School Assistant Principal at Trinity Middle School in Washington, PA; Director of Marching Ensembles at Trinity High School; an Adjunct Professor of Saxophone at Duquesne University; and a woodwind faculty member with the City Music Center at Duquesne University. As an adjudicator, Mr. Lauver is active with the Pennsylvania Federation of Contest Judges, with which he serves as the Executive Director, and has previously served as its Associate Director and Music Education Coordinator. Previously, he has held appointments as a Fourth/Fifth Grade Band Director and Sixth Grade Music Specialist in the Bethel Park School District, Director of Bands at Boonsboro High School in Boonsboro, Maryland, Associate Marching Band Director at Moon Area High School in Moon Township, Pennsylvania, and Marching Band Assistant Director/Chamber Music Coach/Studio Teacher in the West Allegheny School District in Imperial, Pennsylvania.

As a performer, Mr. Lauver has been active in both the Pittsburgh area and Mid-Atlantic region. Mr. Lauver was a founding member of the Free State Saxophone Quartet, where he performed as a baritone saxophonist from 2007-2008. Mr. Lauver has also performed with the Three Rivers Jazz Orchestra, Hagerstown Municipal Band, and was lead alto/co-director of the Hopewell Community Jazz Ensemble from 2009-2012. In 2006, Mr. Lauver earned Pennsylvania state runner-up honors, with the Filtrum Saxophone Quartet, at the MTNA Chamber Music Competition. Additional performances have included three performances at the United States Navy Band International Saxophone Symposium, a performance at Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola at Lincoln Center, and performances at numerous venues throughout the region.

Eric is the co-author of The Complete Saxophonist, a comprehensive saxophone technique book, published by Northeastern Music Publishers. He lives in the South Hills of Pittsburgh with his wife, Rie, a music educator, and their two sons, Alex & Aaron.
