Lee Kumer

Lee Kumer is an active instructor, choreographer, adjudicator and entrepreneur. She earned both her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and her Master of Science Degree in Education (Secondary Guidance and Counseling) from Duquesne University.

Lee is currently the Director of the Golden Triangle Performance Ensemble and has been with the organization since its inception in 1963. She has also been involved with the East Allegheny High School Visual Program for more than four decades. Under her instruction, these units have made appearances in the New York Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, won numerous VFW and American Legion State Championships, numerous PFCJ, TRWEA and PIMBA winterguard and marching band championships and a Disney movie premier in Pittsburgh.

Her high school musical choreography has been nominated twice for the Best Choreography Award in the prestigious Gene Kelly Awards held in Pittsburgh every spring. She was a founding member of the Pennsylvania Federation of Contest Judges and served as its Executive Director for five years. She was a founding member of the Three Rivers Winter Ensemble Association and served on its Management Committee for numerous years. She was also a recipient of the TRWEA Hall of Fame Award in its inaugural class.

Lee has also judged with the following prestigious organizations: Winter Guard International, Drum Corps International and Bands of America.

For the past eighteen years, Lee has owned and operated Performer's Corner, a successful retail establishment catering to the needs of dancers as well as all other types of performers. Among her many satisfied customers are a national championship drum and bugle corps as well as a nationally recognized ballet company.
